Майкл Сцюарт Браўн (англ.: Michael Stuart Brown, нар. 13 красавіка 1941, Нью-Ёрк, ЗША) — амерыканскі генетык, лаўрэат Нобелеўскай прэміі па фізіялогіі і медыцыне ў 1985 годзе разам з Дж. Л.Голдстайнам за даследаванні спадчыннай гіперхалестэрэніміі і адкрыццё рэцэптара ліпапратэінаў нізкай шчыльнасці.
Біяграфія[правіць | правіць зыходнік]
Браўн нарадзіўся ў Брукліне, Нью-Ёрк у сям'і Эвелін Кац і Харві Браўна.[4] Скончыў Пенсільванскі ўніверсітэт у 1962 годзе. З 1968 года ў Нацыянальным інстытуце артрытаў і абменных хвароб, з 1971 года прафесар у Тэхаскім універсітэце, у 1980 годзе дырэктар Цэнтра генетычных хвароб у Паўднёва-Заходняй медыцынскай школе Тэхаскага ўніверсітэта.
Аўтар навуковых прац па механізме транспарту ліпідаў і рэгуляцыі халестэрынавага абмену ў арганізме чалавека і жывёл.
Доктар медыцыны (1966).
Член Нацыянальнай акадэміі навук ЗША, Амерыканскай акадэміі навук і мастацтва.
