This horses entered the Chernobyl zone on the border of Belarus and Ukraine, which were culled in the Askania-Nova reserve for probable genetic defects. Yes, technically, these are not purebred Przewalski horses, I think, but in our local scientific community it is customary to consider this wild population, which is absolutely local and does not connect with other wild and semi-wild populations, representatives of this subspecies. And in the photo they are. Since the article is not about the species in general but about this local population, then the photos are appropriate. Somehow this is how things stand.
