Original description (English):

Every year on the 19th of September at 2 o'clock P. M. H. E. the President in his state carriage takes his station at the foot of the Grand Stand in the Cousiño Park, in the manner shown in this view, to review the Army. The Minister of the Interior (Home Secretary) (who is seen in front of the President) and the Minister of War (on the President's left) are always present, as also an aide de camp.

S. E. el Presidente de Chile el día 19 de Septiembre se encuentra cada año a las 2 P. M. al pie de las tribunas del Parque Cousiño, en el carruaje de gobierno en la forma que se ve en esta vista, para presenciar el desfile del Ejército. Lo acompañan en este carruaje el Ministro del Interior que se halla frente al Presidente y el de Guerra que está a la izquierda de S. E. y un edecán de Gobierno.
