(Oospora pustulans.)The following is an abridged and slightly modified accountof a paper by Miss M. N. Owen on the Skin Spot disease ofpotato tubers. The research was carried out in the MinistrysLaboratory for Plant Pathology at the Royal Botanic Gardens,Kew, and the original paper was published in the Kew Bulletin ofMiscellaneous Information, No. 8, 1919. As this httle-knowndisease appears to be on the increase, and as it is capable ofcausing considerable damage to the eyes of seed potatoes, itis thought advisable to reprint a portion of the article and oneof the illustrations. For technical details the reader is referredto the full paper. *♦♦*♦* Introductory.—The disease known as Skin Spot is one of theminor diseases of potato tubers, and one which has never beenthoroughly investigated.
