English: This image from the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile, shows the bright open star cluster NGC 2547. Between the bright stars, far away in the background of the image, many remote galaxies can be seen, some with clearly spiral shapes.

Deutsch: Dieses Bild vom Wide Field Imager am MPG/ESO 2,2-Meter-Teleskop am La Silla-Observatorium des ESO in Chile zeigt den hellen offenen Sternhaufen NGC 2547. Zwischen den hellen Sternen sind weit im Hintergrund viele ferne Galaxien zu sehen, von denen einige eindeutig eine Spiralform aufweisen.

Español: Esta imagen fue tomada con el instrumento Wide Field Imager, instalado en el telescopio MPG/ESO de 2,2 metros, en el Observatorio La Silla de ESO, en Chile, y muestra el cúmulo estelar abierto NGC 2547. Entre estas estrellas brillantes, muy lejos, en el fondo de la imagen, pueden verse muchas remotas galaxias, algunas con forma espiral muy definida.
