Тэхна — жанр электроннай танцавальнай музыкі^[1], які звычайна ствараецца для выкарыстання ў бесперапынным дыджэйскім сэце з тэмпам, які часта вар’іруецца ад 120 да 150 удараў у хвіліну (удараў у хвіліну). Цэнтральны рытм, як правіла, у агульным такце (4/4) і часта характарызуецца паўтаральнымі чатырма на падлозе . ^[2] Артысты могуць выкарыстоўваць электронныя інструменты, такія як драм-машыны, секвенсары і сінтэзатары, а таксама лічбавыя аўдыёстанцыі .
