Вялікая дэпрэсія

Вялікая дэпрэсія (англ.: Great Depression), рэцэсія сусветнай эканомікі, якая пачалася ў большасці месцаў у 1929 і скончылася ў пачатку 1933. Да 1939 свет выходзіў з дэпрэсіі, таму 1930-я увогуле лічацца перыядам Вялікай дэпрэсіі. У вузкім сэнсе гэты тэрмін прымяняецца толькі ў адносінах да ЗША, а ў дачыненні да ўсяго свету гавораць пра сусветны эканамічны крызіс.

Спад найбольш закрануў развітыя краіны Захаду: ЗША, Канаду, Вялікабрытанію, Германію і Францыю. Моцна пацярпелі прамысловыя гарады, ў шэрагу краін практычна спынілася будаўніцтва, цэны на сельскагаспадарчую прадукцыю з-за адсутнасці плацежаздольнага попыту ўпалі на 40-60%.

Прычынай эканамічнага крызісу, верагодна, стала сукупнасць фактараў: недахоп грашовай масы, крызіс перавытворчасці, імклівы прырост насельніцтва, скарачэнне міжнароднага гандлю, біржавыя спекуляцыі, змяншэнне ваенных заказаў па заканчэнні Першай сусветнай вайны.

Пад канец перыяду рэцэсіі ўзровень прамысловай вытворчасці быў адкінуты да ўзроўню пачатку 20 стагоддзя, г.зн. на 30 гадоў назад. Колькасць беспрацоўных у краінах Захаду дасягнула 30 млн. чалавек, моцна пагоршыўся стан рабочых, фермераў, дробных гандляроў, прадстаўнікоў сярэдняга класу, многія з іх апынуліся за рысай беднасці. Вырасла колькасць прыхільнікаў радыкальных ідэалогій.

Як вынік Вялікай дэпрэсіі, кейнсіянскія падыходы ў эканоміцы пацяснілі класічны эканамічны лібералізм і дамініравалі да 1970-х. Вялікая дэпрэсія стала асноўным фактарам усталявання сацыял-дэмакратыі і планавай эканомікі ў еўрапейскіх краінах пасля Другой сусветнай вайны.
